Instructions for submitting your own artwork and creating your own designs - all artwork should be sent via email (no drop box links accepted)
All artwork supplied must be 'Production Ready'. Black and white with sharp, clean lines and require no retouching. When emailing artwork please name your files with your first and last name or company name. All artwork is reversed at the engraving process, please don't submit a mirror image for engraving.
ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR - PDF, AI, EPS, SVG VECTOR
BLACK ONLY on a white background, the stamp edge represented by a RED circle or shape of your stamp.
ALL FONTS must be converted to an OBJECT as we may not have your font on our system
ALL OBJECTS on ONE Layer only - No Multiple Layers
ALL OUTLINES Must be EXPANDED - and inner lines removed.
ALL PATHS must be closed within your drawing - as the laser is unable to engrave thin lines.
NO OVERLAPPING IMAGES - please combine and weld
MIN LINE / TEXT WIDTH - We recommend at least 1mm or more, the bolder the text and images the deeper the engraving. Think text and lines will result in a very shallow engraving which will not show up very well in the sealing wax.
As we engrave from Corel Draw Files - we have to import files from Adobe Illustrator, for some reason we find that the size can come in smaller than originally created and will need to be re-sized.
PLEASE VIEW YOUR ARTWORK IN 'PREVIEW and OUTLINE' mode - both views should look the same.
There will be a surcharge for any additional artwork that needs to be rectified prior to engraving.
FINE DETAIL within your design will not be engraved as deeply as bold areas and may result in your artwork being rejected for use as a wax stamp.
Please save your file as CorelDraw Version X6 or X8, Size as per your stamp required, NO OUTLINES, BLACK ONLY, FONTS converted to Curves, Combine overlapping images with the WELD feature, ALL Paths must be CLOSED, or this will cause a conflict with the engraving process. Please view your artwork in WIRE FRAME Mode, to ensure the above conditions are met, as they may not be visible in NORMAL mode. If your image or font does not appear thick enough, add a Contour to thicken and take away the original image.
As a guide we would recommend that the text should not be smaller than pt 9 BOLD (this can vary depending on the font used - we have used Arial for example), as most fonts are too thin to engrave, this will also need to be thickened with a contour, so adequate space around the letters is required. Thin text will result in a very shallow engraving, any thin areas within the text may not show up in the final wax seal impression.
The drawing on the left was scanned at 300 dpi and printing onto white gloss A4 card at full size, hand painting into a stencil effect using black and white Gouache paint, as the paint is opaque, you can paint the white over the black. The final painting is then re-scanned at 300 dpi, line art - fine quality mode, to give a good jpg image to work with for engraving. The scanned painting is then traced into vector format using Illustrator Trace to give an image for engraving.
Bear in mind when creating designs for laser engraving, that you do not use thin lines in your design, the laser burns deep, so thin areas may not make an imprint in the wax. Black filled areas work best where possible. Thin fonts will need to have a contour applied to make them heavier.
Submitted Designs not up to the above recommendations may require editing or even redrawing altogether, there is an extra fee for this service, ranging from simple touching up, to a total redraw of your design, you will be advised of this prior to your ordering and advised the scale of service you need to select in the shopping cart.
